I can’t believe that just over eight years ago and after much family persuasion that this was the right time to “do it” I opened up my office in Tattenhall, Cheshire.
I started completely from scratch in 2010, just myself, my experience and my dear friend and former work colleague Valerie! I must have been mad. We are now a strong team of six here at Emma Creasey Lettings and having organically grown over the eight years to become the largest letting only agency in the area.
I was so fortunate to start my career with Savills in Knightsbridge, London. What a fantastic company, the training, ethos and team all gave me incredible experience and grounding for the eight years I was with them. And what a fantastic “patch” for a young, excitable, ambitious and very keen girl to learn it was!
Next step was back home to Cheshire and after four great years working for a well-known and very well established company in Chester which gave me the great opportunity and autonomy to grow the lettings business.
The natural next step for me was to set up on my own. I wanted my own business to consistently offer a first class service, in a professional yet friendly way. Having the confidence through experience and being able to offer such a service would be what I was seeking when looking for a letting agent. Being positioned where we are and covering the area that we do, I also recognised that the diversity of the Landlords and Tenants meant we had to be flexible in our approach. One day I can be appraising a large country house with ten acres of garden and the next a small apartment in Hoole, Chester. I deal with Landlords and Tenants of all ages and backgrounds and again this requires an individual approach to everyone, not a standard “High Street” one size fits all.
Emma Creasey Lettings is now firmly established as one of the only specialist letting agencies in the area and has a fantastic reputation for professionalism, quality advice and a reliable and friendly service.
Now a family business with my husband Richard heading up the ever growing Management Department and Accounts, those core values of quality, reliable, professional service are the same, and business is booming and going from strength to strength.
In uncertain economic times when government legislation around renting property is ever changing, people are looking for us to offer reliable, up to date advice around the legalities of being a landlord. Also, there is an uncertainty in the buyers’ market which is encouraging more people to rent, so people are coming to us to rent properties that match their specific requirements.
It is a specialist area of the market place and we make sure that we are always informed so that we can advise out clients on every aspect of being a landlord or a tenant.
